Understand the load profile
Confirm motor current, torque demand, starting frequency and overload requirements. State whether the application is a pump, fan, conveyor or another load.

Allow for the installation
Review ambient conditions, enclosure arrangement, cooling and cable lengths. Confirm any manufacturer derating and accessory requirements.

Connect the control system
Define local/remote commands, speed references, feedback and the fieldbus option. Include any approved safe-stop functions and backup requirements.
